Key Tools for Going Solo in Tech Consulting
Have you always been interested in going solo or starting your own business — then this article is for you. Okay, all gimmicky openings aside, the act of “starting” a business can be daunting. Believe me, I know. I started my own data visualization consulting company over five years ago on a whim and had so many questions and concerns going in.
At the time I had limited resources on what I would need to get started. I relied mostly on a patchwork of research from websites, the information I gleaned from those I admired on Twitter, my then-current job in professional consulting, and friends and acquaintances already in the industry. And while it wasn’t that painful, I always wished I had a clear example of someone who was doing something similar to me that I could emulate.
And now we’ve arrived at the purpose of this article: to share the different tools and things I’ve learned along the way.
